DMC Battle For Supremacy
The DMC Battle for World Supremacy is conducted in the tradition of the old school head to head battles.
Two DJs battle against each other. The winner advances to the next round.

What makes The Battle for World Supremacy so different from the other DMC competitions is the DJs have to use their wits as well as skills to knockout their opponent with word-play recorded on the records they have in their record box without knowing who their next opponent will be in a random draw for the next round. Beats, scratches & juggles abound.

The 2008 DMC Battle for Canadian Supremacy
Sunday July 27 @ Sound Academy as part of Summer Music Conference '08 July 23rd - 27th @ Polson Pier in Toronto.

The DJ that places 1st will be Canada's official representative at the 2008 DMC Battle for World Supremacy taking place in London, England during the DMC World FINALS weekend - September 26 & 27.

The Battle for Canadian Supremacy is conducted in the tradition of the old school style Head to Head Battles in which 2 DJs pair off and battle each other for 2 rounds, with only one DJ progressing through to the next round.

 
FORMAT
Elimination Round: DJs get 90 seconds each, Judges choose Top 8 DJs.
Round 1 (Quarterfinal): 4 pairs battle, 2 x 90 seconds each
Round 2 (Semifinal): 2 pairs battle, 2 x 90 seconds each
Round 3 (Final): 1 pair battles, 2 x 90 seconds each

The Battle for Canadian Supremacy is open to Canadian DJs only.

DJs bring their own mixers, Ortofon needlz, headphones, slipmats, records.
Technics turntables will be the only turntables allowed and will be supplied.

2007 DMC Battle for Canadian Supremacy
On Friday September 7 at Saints Showbar in Montreal ten DJs from across Canada stepped up to the 1’s & 2’s to compete in the DMC 2007 Battle for Canadian Supremacy. All the 8 DJs who made it to Round 1 displayed quality ‘tablist skills. DJ R.Double has what it takes to make it to the top but, really, when your 1st Round opponent is Shub… the battle is going to be hard… to say the least. DJ Maskillz (a true future contender) was knocked out of contention by a turbo-charged Y-Rush from Halifax who was extremely dynamic throughout the various rounds. Vekked also battled hard but just was not able to surmount the opposition from his Round 1 opponent - DJ TLO. Vancouver’s DJ G-Nius understands the concept of a head2head battle. He was quite entertaining with his battle set shenanigans. We would have liked to see what else he had planned. DJiRATE keeps getting better and better. His sets really put the pressure on his opponents but his advancement finally met a brick wall - Shub. The final four 90-second sets by Shub and TLO had the audience cheering from beginning to end. The decision was close with 3 judges giving it to TLO and 2 to Shub.
