The 2005 DMC
World Finals kicked off with the
2005 DMC
Battle for World Supremacy on
Sunday September 25th at the Hammersmith Palais in London, England.
Japan's DJ Akakabe did not defend his title. The event also
featured special performances by: DJ Muggs (Cyress Hill) vs GZA
(Wu Tang Clan), Scratch (Roots) & Shameless (Dat Sound
Productions). This year's Battle For World Supremacy saw the entry of 2
female DJs - a first at the DMC World Finals - DJ Noodle (Taiwan)
and DJ Vanda (Indonesia). Although Canada had no competing DJs in
the Supremacy & Teams competitions we were represented on the judging
panel by Ottawa's own DJ Drastik.

was held on Monday September 26th. The event started in the afternoon with
a 3 minutes elimination set by each of the country World Champions;

top 10 DJs made it to the evenings 2005 World Finals competing against
Defending World Champion ie.MERGE. In this Final each DJ has 6
minutes to impress the judges. The evening also featured
performances by Foreign Beggars and a special Ortofon Exclusive
showcase by Q-Bert, French DJ crew Birdy Nam Nam and the 8
year old DJ Yeah. Canadian Champion Drastik well represented in
this heated World Final.
