The
2003 CANADIAN FINAL
took place Saturday July 19 at The Medley in Montreal.
The first place winners of our Canadian Eliminations & DJ Dopey, the
2002 Defending Canadian Champion competed in 6 minutes sets before an
esteemed JUDGES PANEL to determine Canada’s official representative at the
2003 World Final in London, England at Brixton Academy on September 14.
The Canadian Final was amazing with fourteen DJs competing. Unfortunately DJ
Shinook, the Moncton champ was unable to attend as he was
hospitalized the night before with heart problems. D.R. One replaced
Montreal’s Champ DJ Mana as he broke his hand & was unable to
compete. However, DJ Mana came anyway & did a superb scratch demo during
intermission with only one hand.
