Our first Canadian
Elimination for 2002 took place in London, ON
at the Wave at the University Of Western Ontario Campus on May 11. Though
the crowd was somewhat smaller then expected the audience witnessed some
entertaining sets from the 7 DJs that competed. There
was a strong contingent of 'tablists & friends from TO
to peep the battle.

The
2002 Toronto
Elimination held Friday May 31st at The Opera House may go down in history
as the best Elimination in Canada ever. Hosted by the always on point &
entertaining E-Swift & Barreth the Swollen Stranger this sold out event
saw 14 of the Toronto area's finest 'tablists entertain & mesmerize the
audience & judges with some very professional 6 minute battle sets that
many will be talking about
for years.

The 2002
Ottawa
Elimination held Thursday June 13 at Barrymore's Music Hall featured 12
DJs, all from the Ottawa area. Hosted by DMC history expert Richniques
with a live performance by Applied Science with Versatile (Kapital
Crew) and a superb showcase set by DJ Klever (Allies Crew) who
placed 2nd at the World Final in 2001.

The
2002 Montreal
Elimination held Friday June 14 at Club Soda was off the hook. Club Soda
is an excellent venue - clean & modern with professional staff. A perfect
venue for a DMC Elimination. The evening started with a hype party rocking
set from DJ Blast. MC Dice B was a great host, working the crowd in both
French & English & keeping the flow throughout the night. Also worth
mentioning were the great showcases from group Kamikazees, rappers
Miccalaureat / X-Horde, beatboxer BDS, Buttababees & surprise guest Genie
(from San Francisco) who mesmerized the audience & DJs with only a guitar,
small amp, microphone and sampler.

Our
Halifax
Elimination took place on Saturday June 29 at
Queen's Landing outdoor on the Halifax
Waterfront. This was the first ever DMC
Elimination to take place on the east coast of Canada & after the high
caliber of talent that was displayed this will certainly not be the last.
The 2002 Atlantic Canada Elimination took place as part of 4 day outdoor
festival celebrating Canada's birthday on July 1st.

2002 Calgary
Elimination held July 2 at The Whiskey Nightclub was a friendly but heated
competition. The event started with a great B-boy competition to get
everyone in the right mood. MC Drew Atlas got things hype with his magic
working of the audience & lots of giveaways. And the battle...the skills
coming out of Calgary are the best!

had the honor of being the last DMC
Elimination for 2002 & the event was da bomb!
This was an afternoon show on Sunday July 7
& the club Sonar filled up very quickly.
MC's Duv Gray & Motoe got things moving at a good-time party pace. The
show started on a high note with Mat the Alien & Kilo-cee putting
perfection into the mix of voice & turntable. Moka Only was next up with a
performance that showed off his verbal skills & savvy stage presence.
